What You’ll Need

Fantom Carpet Punch (or utility knife)
Fantom Installation Kit
✔ Drill
✔ Vacuum cleaner
✔ Silicone adhesive

Step 1: Mark the Installation Spot

Before you begin, determine where you want to install the doorstop in the carpet. Mark the spot using masking tape or chalk. This ensures proper alignment and prevents mistakes.

Step 2: Cut the Carpet

To prevent fraying, use a Fantom Carpet Punch to create a clean 14mm hole in the carpet. If you don’t have a punch, a utility knife will work—just be sure to cut carefully for a precise fit.

Step 3: Drill the Hole

Using a 14mm drill bit from the Fantom Installation Kit, drill a 50mm deep hole into the subfloor. Keep a vacuum cleaner nearby to clear away dust as you drill.

Step 4: Clean the Hole

Before inserting the sleeve, use the cleaning brush from the Installation Kit to remove any remaining dust and debris. A clean hole ensures a snug and secure fit.

Step 5: Insert and Secure the Sleeve

  • Test the sleeve by placing it into the hole to check for proper depth.
  • If needed, drill a little deeper, cleaning as you go.
  • Once the depth is correct, apply silicone adhesive inside the hole and insert the sleeve. Let it dry completely before proceeding.

Step 6: Install the Magnet and Striker Plate

Attach the magnet and striker plate to the bottom of the door, ensuring proper alignment. Secure the striker plate with screws and double-check that everything lines up correctly. [For a more in-depth tutorial check out our installation video]

Once the adhesive is fully set:
✔ Drop the pin into the sleeve.
✔ Open and close the door to ensure the doorstop functions correctly.

Your Fantom Doorstop is now installed! With this setup, your door will stop smoothly and release with a light pull.
