Can I install the Fantom Doorstop into my tiled flooring?
Yes, it is recommended that you use a Diamond Corer when installing the Fantom Doorstop in a tiled flooring surface. The Fantom Diamond Corer allows for a clean, round 14mm hole to be drilled into tiled surfaces.
NOTE: Drill slowly, starting on a 45° angle and always use with water.
I have large doors and they are quite heavy, will Fantom work?
No trouble, larger doors will not affect the function of Fantom at all. Just install as normal. The pin will still fire at the same speed and stop the door and the hold open strength will not change.
What is the recommended gap between the floor and the bottom of the door?
It is recommended that the gap does not exceed 15mm.
If the gap is 15mm-20mm, you can purchase a 5mm Fantom Packer, that can be installed between the door and the striker plate.
This packer is specially designed to bring the striker plate down to an acceptable gap and still allow the magnet to sit down on top of the striker plate ensuring normal function.
Can i mop over the Doorstop?
It is important to keep your doorstop dry. We recommend only mopping around the doorstop and not over the top of the floor installation.
